Fiber and Stream Group signed an agreement for the supply of the Interactive TV platform Solocoo in order to expand and strengthen Fiber’s triple-play proposition. Fiber and Stream Group have joined forces to achieve further growth in the Dutch market with a strong TV product. Solocoo will offer Fiber customers a variety of interactive services such as Video on Demand, Cloud Recording, Multi-screen, and a wide range of high-quality Live TV channels.

Fiber plans to offer the Solocoo product to customers on glass fiber and xDSL networks. In addition to a fully interactive set-top box, customers will also get access to a multi-screen application, allowing them to enjoy Live TV, watch cloud recordings and use video-on-demand services on their tablet or mobile phone. The agreement gives Fiber the opportunity to achieve further growth without being faced with major investments for an interactive television platform. Pieter Heyn, CEO of Stream Group, explains: “Together with Fiber, we have chosen an OPEX-based model, offering Fiber customers a mature and proven TV product. This business model, along with the flexibility of the Solocoo platform, allows Fiber plenty of scope to achieve further growth in the coming years. Fiber will also benefit from the continued development of the Solocoo platform”.

Stream Group has over 10 years’ experience in providing solutions for OTT, IPTV and Hybrid DVB projects. Solocoo has been developed by Stream Group to offer operators and broadcasters a solution for the next generation of video distribution and streaming. The Solocoo ecosystem consists of a Service Delivery Platform (SDP) and Content Delivery Platform (CDP) developed in-house, complemented by third-party solutions for DRM, transcoding and encoding. The Solocoo platform is completely cloud-based, making it ideally suited for a quick time-to-market of a turn-key interactive TV platform.
