Solution for innovative mobile TV proposition
Orange appetite for new gadgets spurs the company in the field of bringing innovative mobile TV solutions. Orange Romania became the first country where the French group Orange has launched a new product for its television services: Orange HDMI TV stick that connects the TV to a smartphone or tablet. The announcement was made during the Mobile World Congress 2015 Exhibition in Barcelona.
The stick is portable and can be used anywhere in Romania. This device allows users to watch movies, series, shows and TV channels on a big screen, using their mobile device as a remote control. More precisely, the customers need a smartphone or tablet on Android or iOS, a TV set with HDMI port and a secure Wi-Fi or LTE connection. With the help of the applications Orange TV Go and Orange TV stick which have been built and integrated by Streamgroup, the smartphone or tablet becomes a remote and the mobile content will appear directly on the TV screen. The device can be used by Orange TV subscribers via satellite as well as those watching Orange TV using their mobile.
“The application and TV stick continues the tradition of Streamgroup to launch annother innovative multiscreen TV services. The product meets the need of mobile operators to offer its customers freedom to watch TV content on both mobile devices and TV screens. We believe other mobile operators will understand the advantages of having their own TV platform above sharing all their customer data with Google Chromecast or Apple TV.
